緣側作為日式傳統建築的一種空間形式， 
具有連結內外 模糊邊界 卻又界定空間的功能， 

從進門開始， 透過緣側連結並模糊的中介屬性。

我們替玄關與客廳拉出合適的距離， 
接著又在客廳`、餐廳`、書房間創造出連結彼此

卻不相互干擾的中介空間， 
而界定這些空間的虛實量體部分也為家庭創造出

豐富的收納及使用介面， 

並為家人活動交流提供了的新方式。

藉由緣側概念轉化的量體，有效滿足了家庭大量的收納，

也創造出具多種使用情境的操作平台， 
例如鄰近洗衣間的平台，可以讓媽媽就近在此摺衣做家務；
合適的高度、寬敞的平面，

也能讓主人有不同於客廳的會客空間，

而對於孩子們來說則是充滿新鮮感的遊戲平台，

透過上述設計而拉開的量體層次與空間孔隙，

讓彼此獨立又連結也因此放大了空間感，
不只讓家搖身轉變成孩子們的遊樂天地，
視覺及使用體驗也因此變得有趣且多元。

An engawa is a type of flooring in traditional Japanese architecture

that connects the interior with the exterior, and blurs the boundary yet defines spatial functions.

With the engawa connecting space and blurring boundaries starting at the entrance, we distanced the foyer from the living room

then created middle rooms that connect the living room, dining room, and the study without spatial interference.

The definitive solid and void structural elements of the middle rooms provide storage, interface usage,

and a new way for family interactions.

The structure layering and gaps in spaces render every standalone room as interconnected to create a sense of spaciousness.
